Rona Bernadette, MD (She/Her) is an Adult Psychiatrist who specializes in the psychopharmacologic treatment of patients with psychiatric and mental illness. Dr. Bernadette has a special interest in treating patients with mood disorders, psychotic disorders and anxiety disorders. Dr. Bernadette has expertise in treating patients with psychiatric illness that is caused by, or exacerbated by, medical problems and illnesses.

Rona Bernadette, MD is a native New Yorker. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brown University and completed her medical training at The Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bernadette spent 1 year in an Internal Medicine Internship Program in San Francisco, then completed her residency training in Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Bernadette completed a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Bernadette spent her entire hospital based career at New York Presbyterian Hospital –Payne Whitney Westchester. She came to the hospital in 1998 and worked on the acute inpatient units and in the Evaluation Center. She served as the Unit Chief on one of the acute units for five years. Dr. Bernadette also served as a psychiatric consultant in the Emergency Room and on the medical units at White Plains Hospital. She recently served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Bernadette has a passion for travel and has traveled the world extensively. She has done medical and psychiatric volunteer work in Thailand and India.

Dr. Bernadette empowers her patients and their families to take an active role in their psychiatric treatment and overall health.  Please be advised that Dr. Bernadette is no longer personally seeing new patients. New patients are encouraged to see one of the other excellent providers in the practice. Dr. Bernadette will serve as the Medical Director and oversee the care of all patients in the practice.
