ANNA WEINTRAUB, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Anna Weintraub, MSN, PMHNP-BC (She/ Her) is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in psychopharmacology across the lifespan. Anna was trained to provide psychotherapy and psychopharmacology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN earning a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Anna completed her year-long clinical internship at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, where she provided psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, and psychoeducation to acute care patients on every unit, including the child/ adolescent, addiction, geriatrics, mood disorders, and psychosis units. During her time at both Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital and while at a private practice specializing in fertility counseling, Anna offered individualized, and group talk therapy sessions, utilizing methods found in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
When not at the hospital, Anna spent evenings and weekends serving some of Nashville’s most vulnerable populations through the Shade Tree Clinic, a no-cost community healthcare clinic. Here, Anna assessed and assisted in the treatment of adult psychiatric patients with medical co-morbidities including chronic illness. This patient population often required close follow-up care, and collaboration with a variety of medical specialists, therapists, and social workers, to ensure patient safety and treatment success.
As a member of the limb difference and disability community, Anna recognizes how crucial patient autonomy is. She incorporates Disability -Affirmative Therapy (D-AT), psychoeducation, and collaborative innovative problem-solving to empower her patients with unique life experiences. Supporting those who find themselves at the intersection of body diversity and psychiatric mental health care, an often-overlooked part of the spectrum of diversity, equity, and inclusion, means Anna is committed to creating a body-positive, judgment-free, and safe space for all.
Anna is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens, NY. When not working with her patients, you can find Anna walking her energetic rescue cheagle (that’s a chihuahua-beagle!), taking a painting class at the local art school, or planning her next big global adventure.
