EDWARD MALECKI, MS, MHC, PMHNP-BC

Edward Malecki MS, MHC, PMHNP-BC (He/Him) is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He is skilled in psychopharmacology as well as psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies across the lifespan. Mr. Malecki completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as his advanced practice nursing degree at Stony Brook University. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and has a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Adelphi University. As a PMHNP student, he has had clinical experience at Federation of Organizations on their Queens FACT team, in a private practice setting serving individuals through the 9/11 victims fund conducting assessments and medication management, and at Sun River Health’s Mental Health Clinic providing medication management and psychotherapy. He has also had clinical rotations at Baldwin Council Against Drug Abuse as a Mental Health Counselor providing psychodynamic therapy in both individual and group modalities.

Mr. Malecki has many years of experience working in several areas within the field of mental health. Early in his career he worked in various capacities with individuals with developmental disabilities, from direct care support in group homes, to service coordination, to becoming an Applied Behavior Specialist for an Intermediate Care Facility. He also has experience working as a Mental Health Counselor for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. More recently, after graduating with his degree in nursing, Mr. Malecki worked on a med-surg telemetry unit for Northwell Health LIJ in Lake Success that specialized in medical care for individuals with psychiatric diagnoses and dementia. He was born and raised in Nassau County, New York, and continues to call it his home. In his free time, he loves music and going to concerts and shows, especially that of hard rock and classic rock, enjoys sports, hiking and traveling, drawing, painting and writing poetry, and is an avid motorcyclist and car enthusiast.

Mr. Malecki believes in compassionate, holistic, collaborative care through a scientific and research based approach. He believes in a solid foundation of practice that utilizes a teamwork modality, and will involve therapists and collaborating health care providers to provide his patients with an optimal treatment experience. He is excited to be a part of the dynamic, patient focused team at Modern Integrative Psychiatry, and is dedicated to providing a safe environment for healing and wellness.
